The Ministry of Education has commenced a series of consultations with stakeholders in the education sector to assess the development of the sector and conceptualize recommendations to enhance its transformation.
These consultations will also assess the progress of the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand commenced the rounds of consultations on Tuesday morning in the library at National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD) with representatives from the National Interim Parent Teacher Association Body.
She explained that the purpose of the exercise is to examine all that has happened over the last two and half years. This includes schools’ closure, measures to safely reopen schools, and plans to transform the education sector.
